About John N. Kaelin III
John N. Kaelin, III began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Joseph F. Battle in Delaware County. Subsequently, he served as the initial Municipal/Motion Court Administrator for Delaware County, Pennsylvania where he developed the county’s pro se handbook.
Since that time, John has litigated claims for several insurance carriers and self-insured clients for private firms in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He previously served as managing attorney for an in-house carrier. His experience includes the areas of general litigation, insurance defense, motor carrier, motor vehicle, personal injury protection/no-fault, underinsured/uninsured claims, subrogation, home inspection claims, personal injury, premises liability and product liability.
He successfully upheld an underinsured (UIM) exclusion for motorcycles in the New Jersey Appellate Division. (Brewster v. AIG: 2009). He successfully upheld a charitable immunity defense for an education institution in the New Jersey Supreme Court. (Green v. Monmouth University: 2019). He has also argued before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
John resides in South Jersey with his wife and their dogs.
