About Daniel J. Divis

Daniel J. Divis began his career as a lawyer following graduation from Temple Law School in 1991. For 10 years, he focused his practice exclusively in the area of insurance defense and became a partner in a midsize insurance defense firm in Philadelphia. Along with firm members Frank Gerolamo, Kevin McNulty, and Daniel Lewbart, they became founding partners in Gerolamo McNulty Divis Lewbart & Fox in 2001.
 
In his thirty plus years of practice as an attorney defending civil cases on behalf of individuals, insurance companies and self-insureds, Daniel has gained extensive experience in federal and state court, at the trial court and appellate court levels.  He provides representation to his clients, defending them in civil litigation matters involving personal injury, including medical malpractice, premises liability, dram shop and motor vehicle negligence.  He has successfully tried cases to verdict in the areas of medical malpractice, product liability, civil rights and premises liability. His breadth of experience has led him to employ an aggressive and pragmatic approach to obtain the best possible results for his clients.
 
Daniel has received an AV Preeminent Rating- the highest available rating- from Martindale Hubbell.  He has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2014 through 2024 in the area of Civil Litigation: Defense. 
 
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Daniel served our country in the military in the United States Marine Corps from 1983 to 1988.  He attained the rank of captain and was deployed overseas 3 times as part of the United States Sixth Fleet. His unit, 26th MAU (SOC), was designated the first special operations capable Marine Amphibious Unit in 1985.  He has volunteered at his local parish elementary school for 20 years coaching basketball and serving as a lector.  On countless occasions throughout his career as an attorney he has also provided pro bono legal services to those in need. 
 
Outside the practice of law, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, skiing, golfing, playing tennis, and fishing.
